It was a brilliant day to have an outdoor gathering. The sun was out and the weather was absolutely perfect! Me and Andy arrived earlier (10.30am) to book ourselves a gazebo but was disappointed to find that every BBQ shelter and prime spot on the grass were swarming with kids and families. A change in plan was in order. Without a gazebo to gather in, we decided to have a picnic on the grass instead.
We rushed out to buy more 'picnic' nibbles and organised for Andy's sister to bring a picnic 'rug'. After doing abit of a mad dash in Safeway, we returned just in time to meet the arrival of a few friends. The picnic rug (which turned out to be a huge plastic sheet) was quickly laid out and Andy proceeded to use an unused bbq stove next to the nearest gazebo. After receiving protests from the gazebo's occupants, who believed they also 'booked' the public stove, we managed to cook all our sausages and meats.
By now, most of our friends have arrived and we could finally relax and enjoy everyone's company. The afternoon turned out fantastic and it was great to catchup and say our goodbyes to everyone! We especially appreciated those who made it despite just completing the gruelling 14.4km Fun Run for Kids marathon that morning.
We didn't have a camera with us so were unable to capture photos of everyone. But thanks to Jenny Chan, here are some photos that we do have!
